Underwater Art Ring

Please note, this is a one-of-a-kind ring made for our ARTring 2024 exhibition. ARTring is an annual celebration of bold design and craftsmanship showcasing masterful creations from 30 unique designers. The ARTring event is hosted in the gallery from November to January. Each ARTring comes with a dedicated Story Card featuring a sketch and quote from the designer.

The Underwater Art Ring by Emily Nixon captures the ever-changing beauty of sea pools, with their craggy ledges, shimmering seaweeds, and shifting tides. This one-of-a-kind ring reflects the juxtaposition of colour, texture, and form found in these hidden coastal treasures. At its heart lies an extraordinary sapphire, celebrated for its unexpected and rare hue, evoking the mesmerizing essence of underwater landscapes.

Emily says about her Art Ring:

“I find an endless fascination in sea pools with their craggy ledges and slippery underwater seaweeds; the textures and colours always changing with the tide. THE UNDERWATER ART RING represents the juxtaposition of colour, texture and form I find in such places, the unusual colour of this sapphire so unexpected and rare.”
